Il y a, dans l’univers si particulier du collectif Kiss & Cry, une forme de lenteur, d’onirisme, de mise à distance du monde. Quelque chose, aussi, de l’ordre de la douceur et de la mélancolie. Comme si la chorégraphe Michèle Anne De Mey et le cinéaste Jaco Van Dormael refermaient la porte d’une chambre, avant d’accéder au monde des rêves, pour nous faire partager une histoire issue de leur imaginaire. A la croisée des genres – le cinéma, la danse, la musique, le théâtre – les deux artistes belges donnent naissance à ce qu’ils appellent des nano-univers. Au sein de ces mondes miniatures, mains et doigts prennent la place d’êtres humains. De femmes et d’hommes qui, dans Cold Blood, sont appelés par la mort. Qui vivent leurs derniers instants de vie. Tout se fabrique à vue, sur un plateau de théâtre qui se transforme en plateau de cinéma. Les interprètes et techniciens à l’œuvre, soumis à des canevas millimétrés, sont condamnés à la virtuosité. Tout cela, quoique d’une grande technicité, possède le charme des bricolages poétiques.
