Théâtre de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines / de et d’après le roman Le Secret d’Orbæ de François Place / mes Véronique Samakh
Le marchand Cornélius est en quête d’une étoffe à nulle autre pareille : la toile à nuage, « un tissu merveilleux qui prend les teintes successives des différentes heures du jour et de la nuit en reflétant la clarté du ciel », comme la définit François Place, son malicieux et poétique inventeur. Cornélius est aussi cartographe et il parcourt le monde, à la recherche d’Orbæ, une terre lointaine qui recèle en son centre un lieu mystérieux et inaccessible : la montagne du Bleu des lointains. Après mille péripéties, il rencontre la belle Ziyara, grand amiral de la flotte de Candâa et vagabonde des mers, qui épouse, par amour de l’aventure et de l’aventurier, sa traque des Iles Indigo. « A l’instar de François Place, notre recherche se nourrit des traditions ancestrales pour inventer un univers théâtral particulier », dit Véronique Samakh. Cet univers s’inspire de celui de la marine à voile, sur fond de bleu indigo, la couleur qui guide les deux aventuriers célestes.
