Opposé aux procédés d’actualisation, le directeur du Théâtre de L’Usine présente la pièce de Molière dans son contexte historique. « Je crois que l’art du théâtre est avant tout l’art de la distance, l’art de placer les spectateurs dans une position qui les amène à mettre en perspective ce qui se passe sur le plateau », déclarait le metteur en scène, il y a quelques années, dans nos colonnes*. Une façon d’affirmer, par-delà les siècles, le caractère universel du théâtre de Molière.
