« Je vis le jazz d’une façon un peu furieuse et enflammée », annonce Leïla Duclos pour évoquer son premier album et son titre, Fille du feu. Chanteuse et guitariste, la jeune femme a développé un répertoire qui se situe dans un triangle dont les côtés seraient le swing, le jazz manouche et la chanson française. Du premier, elle aime le pétillement, un certain son à l’ancienne, léché et chaud, et le scat grâce auquel sa voix peut rivaliser avec les instruments. Du second, sa famille de cœur, elle garde cher à son cœur le son des guitares acoustiques, une forme de virtuosité éblouissante et le grain de folie gypsy. De la troisième, elle dévoile un attachement au texte un peu rétro, un côté Poulbot dans l’esprit, qui se retrouve dans les paroles de ses chansons. Fort bien entourée avec des musiciens tels que les guitaristes Steeve Laffont et Ninine Garcia, le trompettiste Médéric Collignon, elle dévoile sur scène ce répertoire avec une verve contagieuse.
