Leïla Martial n’est pas une chanteuse comme les autres. Même pas trente ans mais déjà l’envie de ne pas la jouer solo mais collectif. Là où d’autres tireraient la couverture vers elles, la jeune femme ne se voit pas comme une voix escortée par des musiciens, mais comme un instrument à part entière d’un vrai groupe. D’où la magie qui se dégage de sa musique : sa voix ne lutte pas contre la batterie ou le saxophone, mais participe à la coloration harmonique, mélodique et rythmique de l’ensemble mélancolique. Autant inspirée par Eric Dolphy que par Médéric Collignon, la demoiselle préfère les notes aux mots, ce qui impulse une atmosphère toute particulière à ses compositions co-écrites avec le batteur Eric Perez. Un quartette à ne pas louper.
