Quelque part à la lisière d’une sombre forêt moussue : c’est sans doute là que se cache la « lek », l’aire de parade où se réunissent certaines espèces d’oiseaux et de poissons. Autrement dit « mating areas » (« espaces de rut » en français). « C’est surtout la nuit, en regardant des documentaires animaliers que l’idée de ce projet a germé. Cela m’a donné l’envie de chercher un vocabulaire chorégraphique basé sur l’observation objective des comportements de séduction chez les animaux… » raconte Pierre-Yves De Jonge, cofondateur et chorégraphe de la compagnie belge Dorina Fauer. Dans la pénombre confuse des sens se joue la mystérieuse pavane des peurs et des désirs, entre lutte et manipulation. Croisant danse, théâtre et acrobatie, deux hommes et une femme explorent ces zones obscures de séduction. Les corps s’empoignent, s’emmêlent, s’ébattent et se rabattent. Sur un air ingénu de conte initiatique, Leks (mating areas) va gratter les fantasmes à l’orée des pulsions animales.
