« Qui est-on quand on vit dans un pays qui n’est pas celui où l’on est né, quand on parle une langue qui n’est pas celle que nos parents parlent à la maison, quand on aimerait ressembler aux autres enfants, quand ce qu’on est nous semble si bizarre face à la »normalité des autres” ? », s’interroge Macha Kouznetsova. C’est en puisant dans ses propres souvenirs d’enfance que la comédienne, auteure et metteure en scène d’origine russe a imaginé l’histoire de Léna et la reine de la pluie. L’histoire d’une petite fille qui vit entre deux mondes et deux cultures, d’une petite fille confrontée aux questions de l’identité, de l’ailleurs, de la différence. Un spectacle qui, au-delà du pont qu’il lance entre la France et la Russie, souhaite s’adresser « à tous les enfants de toutes les cultures ».
