ORATORIO / THÉÂTRE DES CHAMPS-ELYSÉES
Depuis sa nomination à la tête de l’Orchestre national de France, Emmanuel Krivine a mis l’accent sur quelques grandes pages du répertoire français. Cette saison le verra retrouver Berlioz à trois reprises : en février pour La Damnation de Faust, en mai avec Harold en Italie et dès ce 14 décembre en mettant à l’affiche L’Enfance du Christ. Dans cette œuvre de la maturité, le romantisme flamboyant et la dramaturgie incandescente des opéras et des grandes pages sacrées (au premier rang desquelles le Requiem) laissent place à une musique apaisée qui puise dans des manières anciennes la matière à traiter avec douceur les épisodes bibliques de cette pastorale en trois parties (Berlioz l’intitule « Trilogie sacrée »). Emmanuel Krivine a réuni autour de l’Orchestre national de France un quatuor vocal de haute tenue : Stéphanie d’Oustrac (Marie), Edwin Crossley-Mercer (Joseph), Nicolas Testé (Hérode) et Bernard Richter (le narrateur), ainsi que – rôle essentiel – le Chœur de Radio France.
