Leonardo Garcia Alarcon possède le talent rare de dépasser l’orthodoxie muséographique et de recréer de manière vivante le résultat de ses explorations musicologiques. Ses résurrections des opus lyriques oubliés du seicento en témoignent. Avec les Vêpres à San Marco, le chef helvético-argentin plonge dans un corpus bien plus joué, la musique sacrée de Vivaldi, qui compte les célèbres motets Magnificat ou Dixit Dominus. Dépassant la virtuosité du concert, il propose de faire revivre avec son ensemble Cappella Mediterannea, le Millenium Orchestra qu’il a fondé neuf ans plus tard en 2014 et le Choeur de Chambre de Namur, l’atmosphère d’un office des Vêpres tel que le Prêtre roux aurait pu l’imaginer pour la basilique San Marco où les chatoiements de l’écriture musicale répondent à ceux de la nef vénitienne.
