Etrangement, l’Epanchement d’Echo, qui se veut travailler la relation entre la danse et la musique, débute dans un silence qui en dit beaucoup. L’écho dont parle le chorégraphe se traduit ici par cet espace entre le silence et le son, entre l’immobilité et le mouvement, et, dans la rencontre au plateau, entre la danse et la musique. L’arrivée des danseurs, tout comme celle des musiciens, se fait par vagues successives, évoquant la plage entre deux marées qu’est l’Estran, titre d’une des compositions de Gérard Pesson. Aux accents fulgurants, grinçants et secs de la musique, le chorégraphe répond par une danse souvent étale, qui tente l’unisson par des mouvements d’ensemble dont la simplicité cache un complexe travail d’états de corps.
Le corps sonore et la musique en mouvement
Mais le spectacle conçu sur les partitions de Pesson se situe également au bord des pupitres, où le corps des musiciens joue un grand rôle. Les corps deviennent des sons, la gestuelle derrière les instruments attire et détourne notre regard des danseurs. Ce jeu de va et vient entre la musique et la danse trouble : comment arriver à capter un spectacle d’une telle profondeur, sinon en le regardant plusieurs fois ? D’autant que la danse recèle des détails, des vibrations de peau, de mains, de doigts qui démangent notre regard qui ne peut pas tout.
