BAS RHIN / MUSIQUE CONTEMPROAINE
La création est faite pour surprendre, intriguer, déconcerter même. Pour sa première édition à la tête du festival, Stéphane Roth a souhaité secouer un peu les habitudes ; autres lieux, autres formats, autres styles musicaux : les changements sont déjà sensibles. Et ce dès le concert d’ouverture (les 20 et 21 septembre), aux Halles Citadelle, une ancienne entreprise portuaire, vaste espace où l’ensemble Ictus se lancera dans une ébouriffante performance de quatre heures à la croisée des innovations musicales du dernier demi-siècle (ou plus anciennes encore). Quelques personnalités fortes de la musique d’aujourd’hui, faisant le lien entre l’écriture savante et des esthétiques imprégnées de pop et d’électro – de Rebecca Saunders à Christopher Trapani, de Simon Steen-Andersen à Jennifer Walshe – sont mises à l’honneur cette année, même si demeurent en arrière-plan quelques grandes figures qui ont marqué l’histoire du festival : Luigi Nono (Al gran sole carico d’amore à Bâle le 22 septembre), Hugues Dufourt (portrait en trois concerts les 25 et 28 septembre) ou encore Philip Glass (nouvelle production d’Einstein on the Beach le 27 septembre). Investissant de nombreux lieux à travers la ville, le festival s’y immiscera aussi à travers des interventions impromptues dans l’espace public « composées » par François Sarhan.
