Créé en 1953, ce lieu, qui semble un paquebot insubmersible, s’attelle depuis longtemps à mêler loisirs, culture, et éducation populaire. Une tâche très difficile, mais qui trouve son aboutissement lors des Rencontres de la Toussaint. Cet événement a désormais pris sa vitesse de croisière, et invite, parallèlement aux pédagogues de renommée, des compagnies aux styles délibérément très variés. Au fil des ans, La MJC-Théâtre a su élargir ses choix de programmation, sortir du traditionnel « spectacle pour stagiaire » et oser des artistes moins probables. Cette année, la part belle est certes faite au spectacle de Bruce Taylor – un hommage visuel, musical et chorégraphique à Charlie Chaplin, intitulé Chaplin in the mouv – qui clôt ces Rencontres, mais également aux petites formes solo, plus intimes : dans cette semaine de spectacles, une soirée est dédiée à Virginia Heinen et Andréa Sitter, qui chacune à leur façon, reviennent sur leur histoire de danseuse à travers deux pièces qu’elles interprètent elles-mêmes. Pour la première, Stella part d’un rêve d’enfant, rêve de star que la réalité vient contrecarrer.
Entre introspection et légèreté
Andréa Sitter, qui ces dernières années nous a dévoilé sa personnalité dans des solos détonants, préfère, avec La Cinquième Position, chronique dansée, poser un regard introspectif sur son parcours de danseuse. Tout le contraire du travail proposé par Système Castafiore, alias Karl Biscuit et Marcia Barcellos, qui nous entraîne dans un univers complètement surfait qui, si on l’accepte, amène l’absurdité aux premiers rangs du rire. Leur Encyclopédie des tendances souterraines ne creuse pas la question de la danse ou du corps, mais renvoie à une tentative de délire philosophico-plastique soit enthousiasmant, soit énervant. On retrouvera alors un enthousiasme plus libérateur dans la proposition des Slovaks avec Opening Night, où cinq danseurs et un violoniste se jouent des clichés, entre humour et virtuosité de la danse.
