BAROQUE / PHILHARMONIE
Féru de jardins, William Christie a ensemencé le monde de la musique. Meneur de la « révolution baroque », il a formé plusieurs générations de musiciens et de chanteurs, par son enseignement au Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris, dans ses académies (« Le Jardin des Voix ») et en leur ouvrant les portes de son ensemble. Florissant ? L’art baroque l’est assurément devenu avec William Christie.
Odyssée baroque
Aux côtés de Haendel ou de Monteverdi, les Arts Florissants ont creusé le sillon du répertoire français des xviie et xviiie siècles, redécouvrant Charpentier, Lully, Rameau ou Mondonville. Que choisir, dans ce vaste répertoire, pour célébrer quarante ans de recherche et de bonheurs musicaux ? Ce sera une « odyssée baroque », florilège lyrique (Charpentier, Haendel, Lully, Purcell, Rameau) dirigé par William Christie et Paul Agnew en compagnie de quelques fidèles (Sandrine Piau, Léa Desandre, Marcel Beekman, Marc Mauillon, Lisandro Abadie), en écho à l’exposition du Musée de la musique, consacrée aux costumes des nombreuses productions lyriques des Arts Florissants et scénographiée par Robert Carsen. Rencontres, master-class, concerts (Water Music et Musique pour les feux d’artifice royaux de Haendel) et un bal baroque participatif le 22 décembre ponctuent cette grande fête musicale.
