Un spectacle à découvrir, d’autant que le théâtre du Maquis a prouvé son talent l’an dernier avec Le Cabaret des Hérétiques, célébrant la résistance des troubadours face à la cruauté de la papauté. L’Eglise catholique et la France livrèrent en effet au XIIIe siècle une croisade sans merci contre l’Occitanie à travers l’hérésie cathare, et cette guerre de cinquante ans marqua aussi la fin de la culture des troubadours. En 1209, le massacre de Béziers fut suivi par le siège de Carcassonne et autres épisodes sanglants. Le spectacle de Pierre Béziers, fondé sur la “Chanson de la Croisade des Hérétiques”, texte du XIIIe siècle en langue occitane, transforme la scène en studio de cinéma pour le tournage des Bougres (terme désignant les hérétiques). La mise en scène combine des techniques de mixage en direct et des techniques d’incrustation vidéo, projetant les personnages dans le décor virtuel de la ville. Cette forme de fiction originale permet de questionner le sens et la puissance des images créées – un thème très actuel -, de découvrir une forme de jeu théâtral redoublé qui se met en abyme et joue d’effets spéciaux spectaculaires, et de plonger dans une des pages meurtrières de l’Histoire montrant les ravages du fanatisme religieux.
