Archétype et symbole de l’humanisme renaissant, esprit d’une curiosité universelle et d’un génie inventif à la force visionnaire, Léonard de Vinci a légué à la postérité plus de sept mille feuillets qui abordent, pêle-mêle, des sujets divers et variés, qui vont du plus poétique au plus prosaïque, de la technique à la métaphysique, des éléments les plus simples du microcosme botanique et humain aux merveilles lointaines du macrocosme stellaire. Amoureux éperdu de la nature et de ses productions admirables, Léonard soumet tous les phénomènes à la sagacité de son analyse et de ses dons d’observation : l’eau, le vent, les couleurs, le mouvement des corps et l’énergie perpétuelle qui anime « la terrestre machine ». Alternant les textes du grand Florentin avec des musiques de Bach, de Schubert et des improvisations au piano, Patrick Scheyder invite en alternance Michael Lonsdale et Jean-Claude Drouot à endosser la carcasse de ce formidable génie entre les mots récités par Monique Scheyder et les images inventées par Skertzo qui, sous forme d’hologrammes et de projections, anime des dessins de Léonard.
