Les Clowns, c’est la rencontre de trois êtres pas comme les autres : Zig, qui aime le lait, Arletti qui aime le théâtre, Le Boudu qui vit dans une grotte. Ils font connaissance, échangent quelques caresses et quelques coups, ouvrent une bouteille, descendent en ville et déambulent jusqu’à un théâtre. C’est là qu’ils trouvent le texte du Roi Lear. Ils appellent les régisseurs et jouent la pièce… « Devenir clown, déclare François Cervantès, ce n’est pas mettre un nez rouge, ce n’est pas faire rire, être caricatural ou excentrique, mettre des habits colorés et des cheveux rouges, ce n’est pas rire ou pleurer fort. Devenir clown c’est devenir poème ». En faisant se rencontrer sur scène Bonaventure Gacon (Le Boudu), Catherine Germain (Arletti) et Dominique Chevallier (Zig), François Cervantès crée un poème à trois voix fait d’allégresse et d’humanité.
