Akosh Szelevényi est un musicien hongrois, poly-instrumentiste et compositeur, qui très tôt a croisé le chemin du spectacle vivant : d’abord en créant des musiques pour les spectacles de François Cervantès, puis en composant pour le CNAC à Châlons dès 1995. Sa rencontre avec Nadj a eu lieu en 2003 lors d’une « nuit hongroise » imaginée par le chorégraphe. Depuis, il est l’auteur des musiques d’Eden, Asobu, Paysage après l’orage, Entracte, Sho-bo-gen-zo… Quoi de plus naturel, quand on connaît l’appétit du chorégraphe pour la musique, qu’elle soit traditionnelle, jazz, improvisée, toujours ultra-présente dans ses créations et parfois même sur scène ! Les Corbeaux est une performance créée par les deux hommes, réunissant sur scène gestes musicaux, chorégraphiques et picturaux, l’enjeu étant de proposer une expression libre comme un véritable dialogue entre les disciplines.
L’improvisation au cœur du processus
La figure du corbeau intervient en filigrane dans l’interaction entre Josef et Akosh. Chacun se remémore la présence de ces oiseaux dans leur région natale, de l’observation et de la fascination qu’ils suscitent. Mais la matière de la peinture, noire, brillante, épaisse mais fluide, ajoute à la métaphore : projetée par Nadj avec les mains sur une grande toile blanche, elle suit les amples mouvements du danseur comme les petites touches des doigts. Courbés ou tendus, ils sont comme les griffes de l’oiseau ; caressant la toile, ils évoquent les grandes ailes noires de l’animal. A l’inverse des vols d’oiseaux qu’aimait figurer Odile Duboc avec l’envol de groupes de danseurs, Josef et Akosh se sont attachés à l’instant situé entre le vol de l’oiseau et la marche, quand la gravité reprend son emprise sur le corps. Nadj subit la même transformation, emporté par la musique et les élans de ses gestes. Le corps devient pinceau, le pinceau devient oiseau, dans un aller-retour constant avec les envolées musicales.
