Alors que l’historique ensemble Clément Janequin chante deux jours plus tard aux Invalides, c’est une autre génération d’interprètes qui lui doit beaucoup qui entre aujourd’hui en scène avec les Cris de Paris. Geoffroy Jourdain a fondé son ensemble à géométrie variable en 1999 pour aborder le répertoire vocal et instrumental du début du XVIe siècle à nos jours. Il affectionne autant les concerts à trois interprètes que les ambitieuses productions associant danseurs, plasticiens ou metteurs en scène, mais toujours avec une prédilection pour les œuvres rares suscitant de véritables enjeux interprétatifs. C’est le cas des Psaumes de David du compositeur Heinrich Schütz (1585-1672), l’un des sommets de l’œuvre de ce génie musical, œuvre polychorale et spatialisée composée en 1619, ressuscitée ici par 16 chanteurs et 17 instrumentistes répartis à la fois sur scène et dans la salle. Des extraits d’œuvres sacrées plus intimes composées d’après Le Cantique des Cantiques du même Schütz sont aussi au programme.
