« Changer le monde, le rendre meilleur, faire justice, mais comment et à quel prix ? ». La question trottine dans les maquis de l’Histoire depuis longtemps… La metteuse en scène Judith Depaule la réactive aujourd’hui en revisitant les mouvements contestataires des années 70, pour interpeller notre présent dilué dans la crise et l’« aquoibonisme » ambiant. « Née trop tard pour avoir vécu cette période révolutionnaire, mais trop tôt pour m’en défaire, j’héberge, à mon corps défendant, l’héritage d’une utopie révolue qui oscille entre fascination et rejet et me pose la question critique de mon propre engagement. » dit-elle. A travers le parcours de six militants, elle suit la piste de ceux qui, dans le sillage de 1968, choisirent la lutte armée au sein de la Fraction Armée Rouge (RAF), des Brigades Rouges et de l’Armée Rouge Japonaise. En scène, les comédiens portent témoignages, manifestes contestataires et textes de propagande, sur fond de musique rock expérimentale et de projections d’images d’actualité ou de reconstitution : une plongée au cœur de ces années-là !
