Au total huit fables, comme un instantané de la création chorégraphique des années 2000, avec toute sa richesse : danse contemporaine, danse hip hop, danse sur pointe, influence africaine, conceptuelle…Quand le rat de ville rencontre le rat des champs, l’urbain et le rural se croisent autour d’un fauteuil de salon et de fleurs en plastique. Le Cerf se voyant dans l’eau nous transporte en Afrique, et la pauvre biche devient frêle gazelle sous les yeux du guépard. Certaines fables suivent le texte de La Fontaine, d’autres s’en tiennent à la morale, aux personnages ou à l’esprit. Contre ceux qui ont le goût difficile est une fable méconnue de l’auteur, car peu étudiée en classe. Son texte brut, qui ne fait pas appel aux fantasmagories animales, met en garde le public contre les censeurs. Prise au pied de la lettre et vue par Lia Rodrigues, elle devient un manifeste délirant pour la liberté d’expression, fait hurler de rire nos enfants et renvoie l’adulte à ses propres attendus, ses craintes et ses « largeurs d’esprit ».
