Les Vieilles Truites (The old trout puppet workshop) est une troupe de théâtre de marionnettes dont les membres vivent et travaillent ensemble dans un ranch du sud de la province de l’Alberta, au Canada. Rassemblant des artistes venus de New York, de Toronto, d’Halifax et de Calgary, cette troupe originale et inventive emprunte à tous les genres et toutes les traditions de la marionnette pour composer des pièces naïves ou sophistiquées, poétiques ou lyriques, dont la fantaisie débridée ne craint pas d’affronter les thèmes les plus graves, avec autant de légèreté que de profondeur. Entre contes philosophiques, fables énigmatiques et paraboles métaphysiques, les pantins animés évoquent la mort sous toutes ses formes, du scandale de l’oppression à la fin choisie dans l’épreuve de la liberté, de l’accident au meurtre, et composent un florilège de saynètes où la beauté grave côtoie le fantasque et l’excès.
La vie ne tient qu’à un fil
Un castelet ouvre ses portes et ses fenêtres d’où surgissent des petits personnages reproduisant les aléas de la condition humaine, et tâchant d’illustrer cette rencontre avec l’insondable que nul, jamais, n’apprivoise, sinon par le moyen de l’art et du rire, qui cuirassent nos existences éphémères. Mis en scène par Tim Sutherland, Peter Balkwill, Mitchell Craib, Pityu Kenderes et Judd Palmer jouent en français pour grands et petits à partir de dix ans. Ni funèbres ni dépressives, les aventures mortellement drôles des marionnettes de l’Alberta tournent partout dans le monde depuis cinq ans. Le Théâtre Jean-Arp de Clamart, scène conventionnée pour la marionnette et le théâtre d’objets, les accueille pour leur étape francilienne : un rendez-vous à ne pas manquer pour découvrir la fine fleur du répertoire marionnettique et l’incroyable talent des artistes malicieux qui tirent les ficelles de cette délirante danse macabre !
