NOUVELLE PRODUCTION / OPÉRA BASTILLE (AUDITORIUM)
Avec Les Fêtes d’Hébé, l’Opéra de Paris invite à redécouvrir une singularité du baroque français : l’opéra-ballet, divertissement en trois actes (ou « entrées ») qui met successivement en valeur les arts – poésie, musique, danse. Si sa trame dramatique est plutôt mince, l’ouvrage, moins célèbre que son prédécesseur Les Indes galantes, regorge d’airs magnifiquement travaillés et fait montre d’une grande variété de tons, tantôt épique, tantôt lyrique ou pastoral. Pour retrouver la magie visuelle des représentations de l’époque, mais en lui donnant un tour contemporain, l’Opéra a confié la mise en scène au chorégraphe Thomas Lebrun. Les chanteurs de l’Académie de l’Opéra national de Paris, dont l’un des objectifs est de former les grands chanteurs de demain à la diversité du répertoire, trouvent ici l’occasion d’exprimer leurs affinités avec le baroque français. Ils sont accompagnés par les Chantres du Centre de musique baroque de Versailles et l’Orchestre baroque du Royal College of Music de Londres.
