Dans « Les Garçons et Guillaume, à table ! », il est question d’une mère omniprésente et d’un père lointain. De Sissi Impératrice, de cours de Sevillanas et d’une pension en Angleterre. D’une grand-mère russe à l’accent pittoresque et d’un garçon qui se prend pour une fille, d’un enfant qui grandit en se demandant pourquoi les regards qui se portent sur lui sont différents de ceux qui se portent sur les autres. Cet enfant, c’est Guillaume Gallienne, comédien et Sociétaire de la Comédie-Française, qui fait ici ses premiers pas d’auteur. A travers ce monologue aux accents de « stand-up comédie », celui qui se vit étiqueté d’une orientation sexuelle avant même qu’il ait eu le temps de la découvrir se retourne pour revisiter son enfance et son adolescence. « Il ne s’agit surtout pas d’un règlement de compte ou d’une plainte, précise-t-il, mais d’une quête, drôle, baroque. Dans ce monologue, je suis le narrateur de ma propre histoire. Mais, cette histoire, je la vis, je la joue, ainsi que tous les personnages qui ont influencé mon aventure. » Suivant le fil de son existence, Guillaume Gallienne donne corps à toutes ces figures avec beaucoup de brio. Et dessine la quête intime et sensible de sa propre individualité.
