LECTURE MUSICALE / La Manufacture / avec Nicolas Rey et Mathieu Saikaly / mes Emmanuel Noblet
L’écrivain et chroniqueur Nicolas Rey lit, Mathieu Saikaly chante et joue. Avec des textes qui s’interpellent, se choquent ou se font écho, ceux d’auteurs magistraux ou populaires de la littérature et de la chanson, cette lecture alternée de phrases chantées est une parenthèse aux allures douces et inoffensives, cachant des mots foudroyants, drôles et cruels. D’une chronique hebdomadaire en duo sur France Inter, les deux garçons passent à la scène, avec un spectacle créé à la Maison de la Poésie à Paris. Car c’est bien d’un accord poétique dont il est question : celui des mots, du phrasé, de la musique, de concordances, de coups de foudres artistiques.
De la tendresse à l’impertinence
« Depuis mes 16 ans, je mets les textes dont je tombe amoureux dans une boite à chaussures, explique Nicolas Rey. Je suis tombé amoureux à plusieurs reprises : Rilke, Céline, Raymond Carver, Albert Cohen, Robert Mc Liam Wilson, Philippe Jaenada, David Thomas… Un soir, j’ai rencontré Mathieu Saïkaly. Il avait, depuis l’âge de 6 ans, gardé dans sa guitare tous les disques dont il était tombé amoureux : Bob Dylan, Frank Sinatra, Bright Eyes, Gainsbourg, Radiohead, Elliott Smith… On a parlé dans un bistrot en tête à tête. Je l’ai trouvé très beau. Il m’a trouvé très vieux. Mais nous avons décidé de fusionner nos deux histoires d’amours ».
