Ce grand monsieur du violon est passé maître dans l’art de tisser des liens musicaux entre ses deux pays, la Russie où il est né, et la France où il s’est installé. Alexandre Brussilovsky a d’abord organisé le Festival Pont Alexandre III à Moscou, pour la promotion de la musique française, avant de déplacer l’idée de cette manifestation à Paris, où ce sont les compositeurs russes qui jouent alors les premiers rôles… Ce nouveau festival en Touraine prolonge cette démarche à travers une programmation itinérante qui prendra le temps, au fil de cinq week-ends, du 15 mai au 20 juin, d’ouvrir de nouvelles voies d’échanges entre deux continents musicaux qui ne demandent qu’à se rencontrer. Brussilovsky en personne ouvrira le bal en dirigeant l’Orchestre de Chambre de Toulouse le 15 mai à 20 h, mettant audacieusement en contact deux compositeurs baroques français (Lully et Leclair) et des russes contemporains (Schnittke et Chostakovitch). Autres invités à retrouver au cours de ces dix concerts présentés dans le cadre de l’Année France-Russie : les violonistes Nicolas Dautricourt et Fédor Roudine, les violoncellistes François Salque et Adrien Frasse-Sombet, la soprano Marina Efanova, la pianiste Sofja Gülbadamova, etc…
