Il y a Prosper, Sacha, Huguette, Robert, Lola, Joséphine… Toutes et tous ont travaillé dans des métiers du spectacle. Ils vivent à présent ensemble dans une résidence pour personnes âgées, à la périphérie d’un petit village, au sein d’une ancienne abbaye : Les Hortensias. Cet établissement dont les finances sont dans le rouge est dirigé d’une main de fer par Sœur Marie-Thérèse, qui fait tout son possible pour sauver l’établissement. Entre parties de cartes et visites de la famille, c’est la vie au quotidien de cette communauté qui prend corps sous nos yeux. Pour incarner ces personnages, Patrick Pineau a réuni trois générations d’actrices et d’acteurs. Sous la direction du metteur en scène, Louis Beyler, Monique Brun, Ahmed Hammadi-Chassin, Claire Lasne-Darcueil, Aline Le Berre, Djibril Mbaye, Nadine Moret, Annie Perret, Olivier Perrier, Mohamed Rouabhi et Marie-Paule Trystram s’emparent de la pièce chorale de Mohamed Rouabhi « avec la profondeur humaine et la hauteur poétique » qu’elle requiert.
