La Chambre 100 de Vincent Ecrepont immergeait le spectateur dans l’univers hospitalier avec une grande sensibilité et une délicate intelligence de l’intime. La pièce interrogeait l’être face à la maladie, la douleur et la peur, et invitait à mesurer l’inestimable valeur du temps présent en célébrant la vie. Les interrompus s’appuie de la même façon sur des témoignages réels et s’empare d’un sujet inadmissible et glaçant : la mort d’un enfant. Vincent Ecrepont a recueilli les paroles de parents qui ont vécu la mort d’un de leurs enfants et les a en partie transposées sur la scène, en mettant en œuvre une délicate distance artistique. Sur le plateau du théâtre, ce sont eux, ces morts si présents dans l’esprit et le corps de leurs proches, qui parlent avec vivacité et force de caractère à ceux qui leur ont survécu, parents, grands-parents, frères et soeurs. Ils sont cinq, cinq enfants “interrompus“ s’engageant contre la souffrance muette, avec l’intention « d’alléger le poids de la culpabilité et de les aider à reprendre désir et légitimité à la vie ». « On verrait ce que cela fait de les écouter », dit l’auteur. Ces enfants pensent comme des grands, ils nous dérangent, ils nous touchent, invitant à mettre « un supplément de vie dans sa propre vie ». Vincent Ecrepont poursuit ici son travail d’artiste libre, mûrissant sa réflexion sensible sur l’intime, avec une tenace volonté de partage.
