« Quand des parents perdent leur enfant, il n’y a pas de nom pour désigner cela », souligne justement Vincent Ecrepont, auteur et metteur en scène de la pièce. « Le théâtre, se devait à mon sens de mettre des mots sur cette réalité », dit-il encore. Son œuvre précédente, La Chambre 100, fondée sur des témoignages, immergeait le spectateur dans l’univers hospitalier avec une grande sensibilité et une délicate intelligence, et invitait à mesurer l’inestimable valeur du temps présent. Les Interrompus s’appuie aussi sur des témoignages réels et s’empare d’un sujet inadmissible qui contraint au silence. Vincent Ecrepont a recueilli les paroles de parents qui ont vécu la mort d’un de leurs enfants et les a en partie transposées sur la scène, mettant en œuvre une juste distance artistique. Sur le plateau du théâtre, ce sont eux, ces morts si présents dans l’esprit et le corps de leurs proches, qui parlent à ceux qui leur ont survécu, parents, grands-parents, frères et soeurs. Ils sont cinq enfants “interrompus“ s’engageant contre la souffrance muette, avec l’intention « d’alléger le poids de la culpabilité et de les aider à reprendre désir et légitimité à la vie ». Vincent Ecrepont poursuit ici son travail d’artiste libre, mûrissant sa réflexion sensible sur l’intime, avec une tenace volonté de partage.
