Tout commence comme dans la réalité d’une vie d’enfant : « Tu vas avoir une petite sœur, lui chuchote-t-on. Tu vas pouvoir jouer avec elle… ». L’originalité du spectacle tient dans la façon dont est mise en scène la réception de cette « formidable » nouvelle par l’enfant. Sophie Girod use et abuse de la vidéo, travaillée à la façon d’un dessin animé, pour recréer à la fois l’univers de l’enfant, démultiplier les corps, mais aussi comme support de toutes ses projections mentales et de ses rêves. La chambre d’enfant laisse alors place à l’étrangeté, au merveilleux, à la métamorphose, pour mieux brouiller les frontières entre le rêve et la réalité. Ainsi, tout est permis : les angoisses et la déception sont déplacées, et la petite fille se transforme au fil du voyage, rassérénée par cette expérience inédite.
