Christoph Marthaler est à l’honneur en ce mois d’avril. Outre sa nouvelle production de Wozzeck à Bastille, il est à l’affiche du Théâtre des Amandiers de Nanterre pour la reprise de sa version des Noces de Figaro. Homme de théâtre, le metteur en scène suisse est l’un des chouchous du directeur de l’Opéra de Paris, Gérard Mortier. Souvent intelligentes, parfois polémiques, ses productions font le pari de la réactualisation. Données dans un décor d’immeuble communiste, Les Noces de Figaro ne dérogent pas à la règle. On retiendra avant tout une direction d’acteur brillante, aboutissant à une nouvelle caractérisation psychologique des personnages. Cette reprise est donnée au Théâtre des Amandiers de Nanterre, dans le cadre de l’opération « hors les murs » de l’Opéra, une excellente idée. Le casting n’est pas pour autant au rabais, loin de là, avec notamment Stéphane Degout (le Comte), Christiane Oëlze (la Comtesse) et Christine Schäfer (Cherubin). Et quel plaisir de retrouver l’incroyable Jürg Kienberger, qui réalise les récitatifs sur un instrumentarium totalement psychotique. Seul regret : le prix des places qui, excepté pour les collectivités et les jeunes, reste bien trop élevé.
