A notre arrivée, ils sont tous là, les musiciens, les comédiens, les danseurs, les circassiens, les animaux, les êtres hybrides qui composent cette étrange famille des NoNo. Une madame Loyal tout en chansons dans les airs, un autre en bord de piste, et le spectacle est lancé : une succession de numéros mêlant l’aérien, l’acrobatie, le jonglage, l’art équestre, le clown, le dressage, au centre d’une piste encombrée de sciure… bref, toutes les composantes du bon vieux cirque réunis par Serge Noyelle et Marion Coutris. Et pourtant, ça ne sent ni la poussière, ni le renfermé sous ce chapiteau littéralement envahi par une vague de délire, de poésie, d’inventivité placée au bon endroit. Si les circassiens restent à leur place de performeurs offrant toute la virtuosité propre à leur art – et ils s’en donnent à cœur joie -, les intermèdes clownesques sont le moment privilégié pour laisser s’exprimer le monde onirique et surréaliste des NoNo. On y croise d’étranges messieurs, tantôt papis évadés du Muppet Show, tantôt parodie d’un groupe de musique latino ou skieurs prêts pour la compétition, cultivant l’art de la transformation et du décalage. Ceux-là assument pleinement leur grotesque, la singularité de leurs corps, de leurs visages, de leur âge, endossent les costumes les plus fous et mélangent allègrement les genres.
Humour, tendresse et théâtralité
Ici, le beau signifié par la grâce des envols au trapèze, aux sangles, à la corde, au mât chinois… côtoie sans fausse pudeur la laideur des personnages. Ce mélange décomplexé ouvre une fenêtre grande ouverte à tous les délires : la troupe se retrouve en robe longe, queue de pie et gros sabots pour un numéro de claquettes désopilant, ou en petit short peau-de-brebis à bretelles pour un jeu de saute-mouton à la bascule. Les corps, que ce soient ceux des interprètes ou ceux des animaux, sont porteurs en eux-mêmes d’une vraie dramaturgie. Le cheval tire la langue, le chien galope, les souris viennent manger dans la culotte du dresseur, le cerf sert de perchoir aux colombes… même les objets dansent, comme ce diabolo rondement mené ou cette roue qui s’échappe. Si Serge Noyelle fait croire qu’il n’aime pas les enfants à force de plaisanteries vachardes, c’est un beau menteur : il dissimule là la tendresse et la fragilité de son cirque, nourri de l’imaginaire foisonnant d’un plasticien et homme de théâtre bâtisseur d’univers imaginaires en constantes métamorphoses.
