Saint-Tropez / Festival en bord de mer
La musique, pour s’exprimer, doit dessiner son propre espace. On lui bâtit donc des salles, où elle peut se faire entendre dans ses moindres nuances. Parfois, elle s’accorde, presque miraculeusement, à des lieux où, pour paraphraser Debussy, « les sons et les parfums tournent dans l’air du soir ». Debussy justement et ses contemporains – Ravel, Franck, Chausson et Brahms – sont au programme des jeunes musiciens réunis autour Renaud Capuçon pour les concerts d’ouverture, les 1er et 2 août, dans les jardins du château.
Entre la musique et les vagues
Ce seront ensuite les ténors Emiliano Gonzalez Toro et Zachary Wilder dans un éblouissant florilège de duos baroques (récemment enregistré avec l’ensemble I Gemelli), le Voyage d’hiver de Schubert par Matthias Goerne et Nikolaï Lugansky, le duo violon-piano de Lisa Batiashvili et Georgi Gigashvili (en partenariat avec le Festival de Tsinandali en Géorgie) ou encore le pianiste Avishai Cohen en trio, habituel détour du festival sur le terrain du jazz. Autre tradition désormais bien établie : la plage des Canebiers, en contrebas du château accueillera un concert au bord de l’eau. C’est au pianiste David Fray qu’il reviendra, le 8 août, de jouer du contrepoint entre la musique et les vagues.
