Le théâtre de Christiane Véricel creuse obstinément le sillon d’une belle utopie, qui enlumine la grise actualité envers et malgré tout : servir la paix. En vingt-cinq ans de recherche, elle a fait de sa pratique un art de la rencontre entre artistes professionnels et enfants d’origines diverses, souvent étrangères, où les différences et les histoires de chacun sont mises en jeu pour produire du sens. Dans Les Ogres, elle puise au cœur des mythes d’enfance et réveille ces insatiables créatures boulimiques pour évoquer l’expérience de ceux qui manquent de tout. « Le thème de la faim est relié à tous les grands conflits humains, à tous les grandes crises du monde, explique la metteuse en scène. « L’enjeu, pour moi, est vraiment d’éclairer les choses avec subtilité, de raconter des histoires vivantes, dans toute leur complexité. ». Bons, mauvais, sympathiques, violents ou drôles, les ogres inscrivent sur un sol nappé de sucre glace et de cacahuètes les tensions entre la privation et l’abondance, la vide et le plein… la voracité de la société de consommation et la quête du bonheur.
