OPERA ROYAL DU CHATEAU DE VERSAILLES / OPERA EN VERSION DE CONCERT
Ce fut l’un des événements de l’édition 2018 du Festival d’Ambronay, temple de la musique baroque : tout juste trois siècles après sa création, ressurgissait Sémiramis d’André Cardinal Destouches, sa dernière tragédie lyrique qui n’avait plus été jouée depuis 1718… Cette redécouverte fut l’œuvre de l’ensemble montpelliérain Les Ombres, co-dirigé par le flûtiste Sylvain Sartre et la violiste Margaux Blanchard, engagés depuis dix ans dans la quête de chefs-d’oeuvre oubliés. Un siècle avant la Sémiramis de Rossini, André Cardinal Destouches (1672-1749) relate dans une partition fiévreuse, où ses talents de dramaturge et d’orchestrateur sont à leur apogée, le fabuleux et tragique destin de la reine de Babylone. L’excellente équipe de la création se retrouve sous les ors versaillais pour renouer avec cet ouvrage marquant, entre Lully et Rameau, un jalon important de l’opéra français. Avec dans les principaux rôles, les voix de Éléonore Pancrazi, Emmanuelle de Negri, Mathias Vidal et Thibault de Damas, le Chœur du Concert Spirituel et l’ensemble Les Ombres.
