Yvonne (Olfa Ben Jamaa) attend désespérément le retour de son fils, Michel (Laurent Domingos), qui vient de découcher pour la première fois. Elle entretient avec lui une relation passionnelle, au détriment de Georges (Guillaume Blanchard), son mari. Léonie (Céline Feraudy), la sœur d’Yvonne, est le pilier de cette famille bourgeoise en ruine. Vieille fille, elle a été fiancée à Georges avant qu’il ne préfère sa sœur. Lorsque Michel rentre enfin, c’est pour annoncer qu’il aime Madeleine (Liza Machover), qui se révèle être la maîtresse de son père. Désespéré, ce dernier se confie à sa belle-sœur et lui demande son aide. Léonie décide alors d’orchestrer le drame pour le tourner à son avantage… Plaçant le personnage d’Yvonne au centre de leur mise en scène, Laurent Domingos et Liza Machover signent une représentation qui accorde « une place majeure au corps ». Une représentation chorégraphiée qui souhaite « mettre en valeur la dimension charnelle de la pièce » et éclairer « les relations complexes qui existent entre les personnages ».
