THEATRE DES CHAMPS-ELYSEES / OPERA EN CONCERT
C’est un tout jeune Bizet de 20 ans, déjà auréolé d’un prix de Rome mais pas encore compositeur de Carmen, qui écrit Les Pêcheurs de perles, un opéra « exotique » propre à satisfaire les goûts de l’époque pour l’orientalisme. Sur l’île de Ceylan se déroulent les amours de deux hommes pour la même femme dans une œuvre colorée, expressive et élégante dominée par la célèbre romance de Nadir : « Je crois entendre encore » ou la cavatine de Leïla. C’est la sémillante Julie Fuchs qui interprète le rôle de la jeune prêtresse. Elle est accompagnée par deux autres trentenaires qui montent : Florian Sempey (Nadir) et Cyrille Dubois (Zurga) sous la direction d’Alexandre Bloch à la tête de l’orchestre national de Lille.
