Le jeune compositeur français Régis Campo (né en 1968 à Marseille) s’est laissé inspirer par la pièce Les quatre Jumelles de Copi pour donner naissance à son nouvel ouvrage lyrique. Un opéra-bouffe qui s’inscrit dans son répertoire à la suite de son Nonsense Opera créé en juin 2001 à l’Opéra de Francfort. « Humour, musique ludique, ironie, fête, danse, mélodie et voix mozartienne : c’est à partir de ces idées-là présentes déjà dans ma musique que j’aborde mon premier opéra avec Copi. Un opéra bouffe, c’est-à-dire un genre à réinventer, explique Campo. Une forme concise avec une heure de musique : des arias, des duos, des quatuors vocaux, du chahutage et de la joie dans l’écriture vocale…». Avec l’Ensemble TM+, Laurent Cuniot (direction musicale) et Jean-Christophe Saïs (mise en scène) et les voix de Julie Robard-Gendre, Sylvia Vadimova, Robert Expert et Fabrice di Falco.
