C’est presque en fanfare que s’ouvre le festival à Bobigny, avec une performance de l’américain Richard Siegal brisant les frontières entre la danse et la musique. Avec son complice le guitariste et compositeur Arto Lindsay, et avec le designer sonore Peter Zuspan, il entrelace dans Muscle that may dream les narrations provenant du geste, de la musique et du texte et repousse les limites de l’expérience et du potentiel improvisateur de chacun. Dans cette même veine du mélange danse-musique, le collectif Neuer Tanz propose le même soir un tout autre cérémonial : sur scène, orgues, micros, guitares électriques et orgues vont devenir les jouets d’une dizaine d’interprètes soumis à une mécanique débordante. Entre concert live, karaoké, play-back, tout se dérègle pour laisser apparaître le grand désordre du monde, grand chaos fabriqué par notre société de consommation, dans lequel le corps ne sait plus subsister. VA Wölfi, qui dirige ce groupe de Düsseldorf, se réfère à un univers pop, mais le trop-plein d’ardeur n’est pas sans rappeler la détermination et l’audace du rock. Une énergie qu’a souvent revendiquée Christophe Fiat dans ses performances, souvent accrochées à la figure du rocker.

Aujourd’hui, avec Rudolph Noureev is dead !, une histoire légendaire de la danse, il achève une trilogie commencée avec Nijinski puis Isadora Duncan, où chaque grande figure est une icône, où chaque vie est une épopée. Procédé inverse chez Bernardo Montet dans sa dernière création, Apertae : la présence de la guitare électrique live distord les sons et les corps, mais c’est bien à la vie et à la personnalité de ses interprètes qu’il s’attache ici. Une communauté humaine est en marche dans toutes ses singularités, ses isolements, ses conquêtes face à l’Autre, à la violence, à la mort. Performance, solo, danse de groupe, spectacle total… autant de formes qui se prêtent à la multitude de lieux qui prennent le risque de la création chorégraphique contemporaine lors de ce temps fort, mais aussi tout au long de l’année. Mention spéciale tout de même à François Chaignaud, qui joue la carte du spectacle pour auditeur unique : Aussi bien que ton cœur ouvre moi les genoux convie le spectateur à une performance-consultation d’une dizaine de minutes, autour de morceaux de la littérature érotique du XVIIème siècle.
