Le très pur et rigoureux Andrès Marin s’accompagne d’une danseuse et de cinq musiciens pour exprimer la force venue de l’intérieur du flamenco. Russell Maliphant préfère les pièces courtes, et enchaîne duo et trios, dont une création inspirée de la figure de Nijinski (After Light). Maryse Delente a choisi de revenir à ses premières amours, reprenant des pièces qui ont fait les riches heures de son travail autour de la féminité. Le Ballet National de Marseille offre quant à lui une création de grande envergure, signée de son directeur Frédéric Flamand : faisant suite à ses collaborations avec des architectes de renom, il s’entoure ici de l’architecte et plasticien chinois Ai Weiwei pour concevoir l’univers scénographique de La Vérité 25X par seconde.
Les danseurs du Ballet de Marseille en prise avec un univers froid et rigide
Cet opposant au régime chinois est un des concepteurs du fameux « nid d’oiseau » pour les J. O. de Pékin. Pour Frédéric Flamand, il imagine une carcasse composée d’échelles en aluminium, imbriquées les unes dans les autres, tantôt cages, tantôt sol, tantôt ciel. A l’aide de la vidéo, à la fois « œil » voyeur et outil pour transformer la perspective et les regards, il fait des danseurs les artisans d’un monde en construction, suspendus à ce meccano géant comme à leur barre d’entraînement.
