Spécialiste reconnu du répertoire de la Renaissance, l’ensemble Doulce Mémoire s’aventure, avec ce programme intitulé « Les Roses d’Ispahan », sur les lignes de partage de deux traditions musicales, entre Orient et Occident. Denis Raisin-Dadre, flûtiste et directeur artistique explique : « Nous avons découvert le chant persan grâce à Bruno Caillat, éminent joueur de zarb et grand connaisseur des musiques d’Orient. Le rapprochement avec le Nuovo stile, inventé par Caccini au début du XVIIe siècle, s’est imposé à nous avec une évidence absolue ». Dans les deux cas, il y voit « un art de l’intimité, centré sur l’expressivité et la virtuosité, émanation des cours princières d’un raffinement inouï, mais empruntant aussi ses danses et ses refrains au répertoire populaire ». Pour ce projet, Doulce Mémoire reçoit le concours du chanteur perse Taghi Akhbari.
