La large palette stylistique, la mixité instrumentale (l’orchestre joue sur instruments anciens et modernes) et le brio de la jeune formation française s’exprimeront pleinement dans ce programme en forme de grand écart, cheminant de Haydn (Symphonie n°88 en sol majeur de 1787) et Mozart (Symphonie n°6 K43, composée en 1767, à l’âge de 11 ans) jusqu’à la musique contemporaine avec une œuvre d’Arnaud Petit : Ictus, pour violon et orchestre. Né à Metz en 1959, Arnaud Petit s’est beaucoup consacré à la musique électroacoustique, qu’il a étudiée auprès de Pierre Schaeffer et Guy Reibel. Il est en particulier auteur d’un opéra-film La Place de la République (1991). Au Blanc-Mesnil, c’est le violoniste Jean-Marc Phillips, membre du Trio Wanderer, qui sera le soliste de son œuvre Ictus composée en 2000 à l’occasion des 150 ans de la Sacem. « Ictus, qui signifie "coup", indique par là une relation à différentes scansions du temps. La pièce est régulièrement arrêtée par des coups inopinés qui suspendent le temps, imposent l’irruption d’un court silence, ou encore un court moment de repos sonore… » explique le compositeur qui décrit son œuvre comme un véritable concerto « parce que cette forme est à mes yeux la plus théâtrale du monde de la musique pure, en ce qu’elle met aux prises un personnage avec le monde, symbolisé par l’orchestre ».
