Guillaume Hasson, directeur artistique des Théâtrales Charles Dullin, définit ainsi ce festival, les spectateurs et les artistes qui lui donnent corps : « un point de rencontres à tous ces voyageurs, prospecteurs, découvreurs, où ils pourraient (…) livrer la somme de leur quête éperdue, de leurs images et souvenirs glanés, partager le butin de leurs colères et de leurs espoirs avec ceux à qui ils appartiennent aussi, faire cadeau de leur présence peau de chagrin, avant que le vent turbulent de l’éphémère n’emporte leurs paroles vivantes, et de repartir encore pour d’autres fêtes fédératrices et humaines ». Née en 1967 sous l’impulsion du directeur du Théâtre Romain-Rolland de Villejuif, Raymond Gerbal, les Rencontres du Jeune Théâtre, rebaptisées depuis Rencontres Charles Dullin, sont installées en réseau dans tout le Val-de-Marne. Elles mettent en lumière des textes dont les thèmes recoupent les préoccupations et les aspirations d’aujourd’hui et dont la forme, souvent originale et inédite, parie sur le renouvellement des écritures dramatiques et scéniques, préférant « les aventuriers de l’époque » aux « académistes tamponnés, conformistes complaisants, parnassiens adeptes des beautés impersonnelles et distanciées, branchés du mouv’ et de la mode », comme dit Guillaume Hasson.
Soutenir l’initiative spectaculaire, de la création à la réception
Cette année, le festival propose vingt-sept spectacles, une journée lecture et débat (le 23 octobre, de 14 à 18h au Théâtre du Val d’Osne, sur le thème « Ecrire le territoire », autour des œuvres de Carole Thibaut et Hédi Tillette de Clermont-Tonnerre) et une master class dirigée par Ariane Mnouchkine (le 20 novembre au Théâtre du Soleil). Six volets thématiques organisent les spectacles de cette édition 2010 : le jeune public contemporain, les voix singulières, les écritures de plateau, les nouvelles écritures textuelles, les spectacles venus de l’étranger et les petites formes. La manifestation se clôturera le 13 février avec le Forum des « colporteurs », spectateurs-relais des Théâtrales qui se font passeurs de théâtre dans tout le Val-de-Marne et se retrouveront à Anis Gras à Arcueil. Car l’esprit des Théâtrales excède la volonté de diffusion sur un territoire. Le but de ce festival est d’installer le théâtre en rhizome et de faire en sorte que la sortie culturelle ne soit pas seulement un exercice solitaire mais « avant tout un temps de sociabilité et de convivialité », autrement dit, l’occasion d’un rapport citoyen à la culture découvrant sur la scène non seulement ce que la société contemporaine donne à voir mais aussi ce qui nous reste à faire, non seulement ce qui est, mais ce qui pourrait être…
