d’après un discours de David Foster Wallace / mes Marie Vialle
C’est en 2005, devant un parterre d’étudiants diplômés d’une université américaine, que David Foster Wallace (1962-2008) a prononcé le discours dont s’est inspirée Marie Vialle pour écrire Les Vagues, les amours, c’est pareil. Un discours qui, de clins d’œil en anecdotes, invitait son auditoire à s’extraire d’une vision banale du quotidien pour parvenir à percevoir la grâce et la profondeur de chaque instant de l’existence. « Ce texte propose d’inventer une vie qui vaut la peine d’être vécue, explique la comédienne, (…) de tenter, de faire l’effort, le travail nécessaire, d’essayer mais sans avoir de solution. Ce n’est donc pas une méthode, ni un discours fermé, mais bien une impulsion, un essai, une tentative à recommencer chaque jour, chaque soir. » Seule sur scène, Marie Vialle fait sienne la pensée de l’écrivain dans une « tribune autonome, libre et légère », dans une adresse aux publics qui veut affirmer « l’insondable beauté de la vie ».
