Gaston Leroux, un des grands maîtres du suspense et de l’intrigue haletante, aime à jouer avec les fantasmes du monstre qui sommeille en chacun. Jeu dont se délecte aussi le Grand-Guignol, qui fait couler le sang à grands renforts d’effets terrifiants. Frédéric Ozier et la compagnie acte6 investissent la salle Christian-Bérard, sous la voûte du Théâtre de l’Athénée, ainsi que le couloir qui y mène, et recréent les conditions du plaisir épouvanté que fait naître le spectacle du mal. Perdu dans le Jura suisse, un couple et leurs deux amis trouvent refuge chez un homme prétendant avoir passé un pacte avec le diable. Au matin, un coup de fusil de chasse vient sceller la rencontre avec le malin… Au menu de l’horreur : « une trahison, un adultère, une soupe de tomates, un meurtre et plusieurs damnés » et pour servir les plats, les membres talentueux d’une troupe dont on connaît l’inventivité et l’originalité, pour s’adonner à « la jubilation du rire et de l’effroi » !
