Alors que le Théâtre s’emploie à revivre les meilleures années d’Achille Tonic, le Parc Georges Brassens devient lui aussi le lieu de la légèreté et du plaisir, transporté par l’esprit cabaret qui règne en maître dans la proposition de la compagnie 26 000 Couverts. Philippe Nicolle a toujours bousculé les formes en emmenant son théâtre sur le bitume des arts de la rue (Sens de la visite), sur un parquet de bal (Le Grand Bal des 26 000), dans les gymnases (1er championnat de France de n’importe quoi), sur la scène (Beaucoup de bruit pour rien)… Aujourd’hui, c’est l’idéal, voire l’utopie de la rencontre avec les autres qui guident le groupe vers cette forme de cabaret. Rencontre avec le public, rencontre avec d’autres artistes… des moments de proximité qui leur permettent, comme à leur habitude, d’emmener le théâtre là où on ne l’attend pas, et de désacraliser le moment de la représentation.
Un art du détournement
C’est donc dans cet esprit que les 26 000 ont conçu L’Idéal Club. En allant puiser dans le music hall la dynamique du rire, de la poésie, mais aussi celle d’une cruauté et d’une dérision revendiquées, ils se laissent carte blanche pour reprendre à leur compte une « formule » déjà bien éprouvée. Tout l’art de la compagnie réside dans le détournement, le déplacement subtil ou assumé à la truelle des figures habituelles du cabaret : les numéros, les sketchs, la magie, la musique, le cirque, la danse… Même si ici le trapèze se fait virtuel, la musique se règle à la tronçonneuse, et les cow-boys investissent la piste. C’est le règne du loufoque, du burlesque, du clown et de l’absurdité, servis par une dizaine de comédiens et de musiciens qui composent l’équipe de cet Idéal Club.
