Les romantiques se succèdent mais ne se ressemblent pas. Après Chopin et Schumann en 2010, c’est au tour de Liszt d’être célébré cette année dans un grand nombre de festivals. A Lille Piano(s) Festival, c’est même un véritable marathon lisztien de trois jours qui attend les mélomanes. François-Frédéric Guy s’attaque au Deuxième concerto avec l’Orchestre national de Lille dirigé par Jean-Claude Casadesus, l’un des plus vieux tandems formé par un chef et un orchestre dans la vie musicale française (le 17 juin). A la même heure, ceux qui préfèrent l’intimité du récital iront au Théâtre du Nord pour le concert de Hüseyin Sermet, qui joue notamment l’indolent Nuages gris. Le lendemain, une chose est sûre : le récital d’Hélène Grimaud va attirer les foules. La pianiste adulée puis détestée par un grand nombre de confrères (deux sentiments sans doute exagérés…) jouera la Sonate en si mineur, clé de voûte de l’univers pianistique lisztien.
Les concerts des jeunes talents à entrée libre
Les transcriptions virtuoses du compositeur hongrois sont aussi à l’affiche, notamment celle, pyrotechnique, de la Neuvième symphonie de Beethoven pour deux pianos (avec Marie-Josèphe Jude et Jean-François Heisser, toujours le 18 juin). En tournée promo pour son disque Naïve, l’excellent Bertrand Chamayou jouera la deuxième Année de pèlerinage consacrée à l’Italie (le 18 juin encore !). Mais il serait dommage de se limiter à aller entendre les pianistes que l’on connaît. Tentons l’aventure et rendons-nous au récital de Herbert Souch (le 19 juin), Jane Xie (qui a remporté le Concours de Shanghai, le 18 juin) ou encore Varduhi Yeritsyan (pianiste arménienne, accessoirement compagne de Bruno Mantovani, dont elle jouera une pièce, le 18 juin). Bonne idée : les concerts de ces jeunes talents sont tous à entrée libre. Masterclasses, conférences et récitals en plein air viennent compléter ce dispositif hors normes.
