Pour cadre à ce bel Inattendu de Fabrice Melquiot, une Afrique secrète et mythique, lourde de ses conflits internes sanglants, onirique et naïve à la façon de La Charmeuse de serpents du Douanier Rousseau. Ainsi parle Liane, la jeune femme abandonnée ou bien endeuillée de l’absence de son compagnon noir, qu’elle nomme jusqu’à l’enivrement son petit chou et son tigre : « …c’est l’Afrique tout entière que je traverse, le courant m’emporte et l’avenir est un fauve, la cage ouverte je m’emporte, je fous le camp après toi… » La jeune femme estime avoir trop gémi et pleuré la disparition volontaire ou involontaire de son conjoint – blessé ou tué à la guerre ou simplement mort à elle. En tout cas, esseulée et meurtrie, Liane parvient à contrecarrer dans un tête-à-queue mental et brutal la vague forte de ses tendances autodestructrices puisque, après les aventures de l’amour, reste la vie qu’il faut juguler en dépit de tout pour continuer à être, ne serait-ce que minimalement.
Prisonnière de sa jungle intérieure
La conquérante de sa propre existence désormais non partagée décide, pour s’extraire de son enfermement, de parcourir en photographe reporter de guerre, le monde en flammes, de la Bosnie à la Géorgie, du Rwanda à la Somalie… Il lui faut affronter la violence des miliciens de ces contrées chaotiques, des ennemis à côtoyer finalement en compagnons d’existence. Un travail énorme sur soi qui mène toutefois à une sérénité gagnée et aux retrouvailles avec l’authenticité. La vie, « c’est ce qui nous arrive quand on fait autre chose ». La mise en scène de l’acteur Brontis Jodorowsky joue avec bonheur et délicatesse de la précarité de la chambre en abandon : un lit, des draps blancs, une chaise, une table de cuisine et des petits flacons, réceptacles de couleurs aux pouvoirs magiques sans oublier le bouquet rafraîchissant de fleurs vives sur un sol de cartons kraft. La mort est là, remplacée peu à peu par les forces d’Eros. Éléonore Gratton incarne cette Liane prisonnière de sa jungle intérieure, avec une belle conviction d’âme, un engagement et une affirmation de soi qui forcent le respect ; une comédienne aussi qui chante à ravir. Un théâtre intime sur des chemins familiers et méditatifs.
