« Un titre tordu, pour exprimer un monde… tordu. »
Qu’est-ce qui vous a poussé à écrire ce texte ? Et pourquoi un tel titre ?
Catherine Anne : Quand la société fait mal de partout à l’être humain, le désir de réagir devient urgent. Pour cette création en juin 2011, je me sentais portée par une impulsion m’évoquant Brecht écrivant Grand’ peur et misère du III° Reich. Sorte de travelling théâtral dans la France d’aujourd’hui, Comédies tragiques met en jeu le combat de l’être humain face à des pouvoirs écrasants ou dérisoires. Cette pièce, construite comme un carnet de croquis sur le vif, est un assemblage sarcastique de situations singulières et humaines. Un assemblage grinçant, violent et drôle. Quant au titre, Comédies tragiques, il s’est imposé dans son ironie : un titre tordu, pour exprimer un monde… tordu.
Comment avez-vous envisagé le passage à la scène, avec la multitude de lieux et de personnages qui caractérise l’action ?
C. A. : Incarnés par quatre acteurs virtuoses, les trente-deux héros obscurs de Comédies tragiques apparaissent et disparaissent entre des colonnes noires et blanches et des tours immenses. Les comédiens changent de tête, et de voix, et de façon de bouger… Les corps sont travaillés comme des sculptures en vie ! Chaque personnage – petite personne au monde – surgit avec sa bouille, son nez, sa chevelure plus ou moins apprêtée, sa fripe, son masque social, son désordre de vivant, et sa sincérité. Quant à la multitude des lieux, nous avons fui le réalisme. L’action de Comédies tragiques se déroule dans des appartements, des agences de Pôle emploi, un studio de télévision, des bureaux de Poste, un Ministère, une école, une entreprise… La scénographie unique associe les colonnes de Buren, voisines du ministère de la Culture et de la Comédie-Française, et des tours d’habitat collectif. C’est un espace insolent !
Qu’est-ce qui crée le comique dans la pièce ?
C. A. : La violence sociale examinée à la loupe du quotidien, la mise en tension de l’absurdité du système, ainsi qu’une façon de faire tinter la langue pâteuse officielle. Et puis les personnages… Certains sont trop ! Trop fragiles, trop perdus, trop malmenés, trop arrogants, trop humains… En jonglant plus ou moins astucieusement avec leurs difficultés, ils font apparaître les nôtres, alors nous reconnaissons nos désarrois et nos colères, de là aussi le rire jaillit.
Cette pièce est-elle un « appel à l’éveil artistique » ?
C. A. : Pour la toute première fois, j’ai écrit une pièce dont certaines scènes se déroulent sur… une scène de théâtre ! Mais pour autant, je ne prétends pas lancer un appel à l’éveil artistique ! Plutôt un appel au réveil tous azimuts ! Politique, poétique, sensible… Un appel au réveil de toutes nos possibilités de création, de vie et de résistance.
