La charmante et chaleureuse Lisa Nilsson a acquis en Scandinavie une véritable notoriété grand public, alternant depuis le succès de son premier album « Himlen Rundt Hornat », paru en 1992, d’authentiques projets dans le domaine du jazz contemporain et des expériences musicales plus ouvertes. C’est en 1996 qu’elle fait la connaissance du pianiste danois Niels Lan Doky, rencontre qui aboutit entre autres, neuf ans plus tard, au film « Between a Smile and a Tear » (réalisé par Doky) en hommage au célèbre Montmartre Jazz Club de Copenhague. Dans ce merveilleux documentaire, elle partageait l’affiche avec les deux autres membres de son quartet : Mads Vinding (contrebasse) et Albert "Tootie" Heath (batterie), grande figure du jazz américain ayant choisi comme beaucoup de ses compatriotes la capitale danoise comme port d’attache européen. Frère cadet de Percy et de Jimmy Heath, Albert « Tootie » Heath a joué avec John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, Sonny Rollins ou Dexter Gordon, le plus souvent au « Montmartre » où il occupa de 1969 à 1974 le poste de batteur habituel. Devenue Brésilienne d’adoption, Lisa Nilsson nous propose, entourée de ces musiciens d’exception, un voyage à travers une sélection des plus grands standards du jazz et de la bossa nova.
