Formidable idée que celle qui anime ce concert « pas comme les autres » autour d’un thème imposé : le premier mouvement, Allegro maestoso, du Premier concerto pour piano en mi bémol majeur de Franz Liszt. L’oeuvre fut créée à Weimar en 1855 sous la direction de Berlioz, avec Liszt au piano, et remarquée plus tard par Bartok comme la « première composition parfaite de forme sonate cyclique, avec des thèmes communs traités sur le principe de la variation »… Lors de cette soirée exceptionnelle, le premier mouvement de ce concerto marquant n’en finira pas de se réinventer et de prolonger l’inspiration lisztienne initiale, soumis tour à tour aux variations imaginées par les compositeurs Nicolas Bacri, Thierry Escaich, Guillaume Connesson, Karol Beffa, Frédéric Verrières, Bruno Mantovani, Eric Tanguy, Richard Dubugnon et Pascal Zavaro. Un étonnant dialogue à distance, à plus de 150 ans d’écart, entre Liszt et de jeunes compositeurs français ! Avec l’orchestre symphonique du Conservatoire à Rayonnement régional de Cergy-Pontoise placé sous la direction d’Andrée-Claude Brayer.
